This is a typical electro-percussive sound i've created with the waldorf attack plugin from scratch. No preset used.

Guiro sound made of rim shot sound in behringer rd-8 with built-in high pass filter and retrigger with accent. Recorded with zoom h1 at 96khz and 24bits. Filtered of low range noise, tirmmed and normalized in edison in flstudio. Editing made sample 32-bit.

I had read that some bluegrass musicians tune their guitar strings to dadf#ad because it makes playing that style of music easier. But what does it sound like? this is the sound of each string being plucked and then an "open drop" strum, with no frets held down. It was synthesized using the program 'sox'. Synthesizer sound with very slow attack.

Scratch synthesized in tone2 vst saurus. One of saurus presets. Edited a bit - added end note and removed loop. 150bpm.

Science fiction alarm indicating danger. Synthesized with karmafx.

Synthesized train horn using moderately manipulated french horn ensemble library. The train sounds like it is coming toward the listener through pitch and volume effects. I removed the panning i originally made it with so you can manipulate that to your liking. This is offered with cc0, but if you can attribute, please do.

Some cafe ambience severely altered with blok modular fx. Was originally a long jam cut up into a bunch of individual files but i figured searching through them would be a pain so i merged them back into one file. So listen through and pick the sounds you like with a wav editor, or enjoy it in its own regard as abstract sound sculpture or something. I don't want to divulge too much of what the patch looked like but it random note values with each keyboard press which were then ran through a waveshaper. Later on i add some reverb and use various things to alter the panning for some strange stereo effects. Edit: you might want to use a dc eliminator on the samples because the waveshaper creates some dc offset (basically useless low/zero frequency noise for those not in the know). The original source for stretchdrone01. Aiff. Made back in 1980 on an octave/cat synthesizer and recorded to cassette. It's from a series of work tapes that i and my friend stephen mackay made under the "band" name late capitalism. The title for this one was "a five year contract with disney". We never did much with this material so feel free to use it as you see fit. Enjoy.

I'm trying to get some character to my modular sounds. This is a sequence with a sawtooth wave mixed with noise and joined in a vca that can distort a little. It's a vca i bought used. Don't think a new vca of the same sort distortes. I really like that. I little reverb is added to the sound. The sound is analog until it reaches the reverb. Sometime i will buy a spring reverb. Promise. But here, on the internet, the sound is digital anyway.

Alienxxx and i had a little private dare. This is how it sounds when i have mixed the two resulting files. I made a schematic sketch on a simple modular patch. All info was this sketch. Two filters playing a melody. The filters are uoki-toki polivoks vcf and intellijel μvcf.

In the right channel you hear uoki-toki polivoks vcf. In the left channel is the sound of intellijel μvcf. They are playing the same tones. The sounds have the same envelope but respectively vca are also affected by attenuated lfos.

The snare drum sounds like gun shooting.

I used the sound of a brush scraping as the source, added the sound you get when you twist a russian doll (already convolved with itself), and this was the result. To me it sounds a little bit like wind.

A synthesized drum kick. Is really a sine wave (obviously) with pitch modulation, and a low noise on the beginning of the sound.
